The default journal lives on the device and needs no account. Optional Sign in with Apple can keep a private, user-scoped copy in Cloudflare D1.

you are pursuing weight loss and want a private iPhone or iPad journal with fast logging and timing you can audit.

It is not

medical care, a barcode scanner, or a social feed. It will not prescribe a deficit.

Do I need an account?
No. The native journal works on this device without one. Sign in with Apple is optional private sync.
Is it medical advice?
No. Timing suggestions are estimates from the numbers you enter. They are not diagnosis or treatment.
Is the iPhone app on the App Store?
Not yet. This site will not show Apple’s badge until a live apps.apple.com listing exists.
Is Calorie paid?
There is no paid plan or checkout. Access is currently limited to invited internal TestFlight testers, and no permanent free or paid model has been announced.

If you choose Sign in with Apple, Calorie can keep a private, user-scoped copy in Cloudflare D1. The service verifies the native app identity and does not expose one person’s foods or entries to another person. Sync is optional and is not required to open or use the local journal.

Account and service data

Signed-in mode stores the account identifier and service records needed for authentication, synchronization, reliability, and abuse prevention. The static marketing pages never receive the contents of a local-only journal. Website analytics is disclosed separately and is not included in the native app.

When the optional service ingestion key is configured, App Health may receive a generic account-created event with the fixed title “New account created” and no account or profile properties.

The same optional key enables endpoint health measurements for API performance: the HTTP method, matched route template, response status, duration, declared response size, and timestamp. Route parameters are represented by their template placeholders. These endpoint measurements do not include account or user identifiers, food or health records, request or response bodies, headers, cookies, or query values. Without the key, endpoint monitoring is disabled. Both App Health signals are separate from the marketing site's Microsoft Clarity analytics.

Your controls

The native app includes local data export and deletion controls. Signing out does not silently delete a local journal. If you use sync, account and cloud-data deletion are handled through the app’s account controls or the support route. Exported files are your responsibility once they leave the app.

Sensitive information and estimates

Calorie is a personal tracking tool, not medical care. Do not use it for diagnosis, treatment, dosage instructions, or emergencies. Timing and target estimates are derived from the information you enter and visible rules; they can be incomplete or wrong.
